About Easter Parade (Dementia Friendly)
Easter Parade is a classic MGM musical starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland, set in early 20th-century New York. Don Hewes (Astaire), a successful Broadway dancer, is heartbroken when his longtime partner, Nadine Hale (Ann Miller), leaves him for a solo career. Determined to prove he can make any dancer a star, Don impulsively picks a naïve chorus girl, Hannah Brown (Garland), and trains her to be his new partner.
Initially struggling, Hannah gradually blossoms, and the duo develops undeniable chemistry—both on and off the stage. As their success grows, romantic tensions arise, complicated by Nadine’s lingering presence. Featuring Irving Berlin’s timeless songs, including “Steppin’ Out with My Baby” and “Easter Parade,” the film is a dazzling mix of song, dance, and romance.
