About Poetry

A sixty something woman begins to see the world in a new light after discovering poetry

Yang Mi-ja is a lost and lonely woman in search of meaning and truth in her life. One day she stumbles upon a poetry class and enrols. Following her tutors advice, she begins to see the world around her more vividly. When her grandson is implicated in a terrible crime, she finds solace in her poetry, finding an inner strength she never knew she had.

Like many great poems, this captivating, poignant and quietly contemplative film is a deeply resonant exploration of human frailty. Yun Jung-hee’s subtle, heartbreaking performance anchors the film, capturing Mija's internal struggle, while the elegantly paced script blends lyrical reflection with raw emotional power.
