In what looks like the first of the 2025 award contenders, Colman Domingo follows his Oscar nominated performance in Rustin with another emotive and wonderfully layered performance. Divine G, imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other prisoners, including a wary newcome. With a supporting cast of formerly incarcerated actors and based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison, this inspiring celebration of the redemptive power of art presents an authentic and very different view of prison life to what is normally see on screen.
