On July 12th, The Roses Young Creatives (RYC) took centre stage for their highly anticipated debut performance of We Will Rock You young@part. After a week of intense technical rehearsals, the young performers were fully prepared and delivered an electrifying opening night, leaving the audience in awe.
Founded in September 2022, RYC began with just 40 performers. However, following last year’s outstanding production of Matilda Jr., the group has seen tremendous growth, doubling in size. Now, with most groups at full capacity and a waiting list of 50 eager participants, RYC has become a coveted creative outlet for young talent.
This year, the RYC team was determined to elevate the production to new heights, ensuring the set and technical elements matched the passion and energy of the performers. Their tireless efforts in crafting intricate set pieces and dynamic lighting paid off, creating a stunning backdrop that enhanced the incredible performances on stage.

To recognise those who have excelled in both performance and attitude throughout the year, the newly introduced RYC awards celebrated standout individuals across the various age groups. Congratulations to Thomas (Beginners), Albert (Juniors), Bruce (Intermediates), Millie (Seniors), and Charley (Company) for their remarkable achievements. Additionally, the Directors’ Award was presented to Elliott (Company) for his extraordinary dedication and commitment.
RYC would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their generous sponsors, Altitude Scaffolding, Courtney World Travel, and DJ Perks & Sons, whose support was instrumental in making this production a reality.
As the curtain falls on another successful performance, RYC continues to set the stage for future stars.
