The Roses' Standing Ovation

Celebrating 50 Years of Stage & Stories.

The Roses has been at the heart of our community since HRH Princess Anne opened its doors on the 30 Oct 1975.

For 50 years, we’ve brought a vibrant mix of entertainment, unforgettable performances and a place where friendships (and even a little romance) can flourish.

This year, we’re celebrating half a century of joy, creativity and connection—we want to hear the entire Roses story and we need you to help us.

Tell Us Your Story

How to Share Your Story

It's easy to get involved by Mon 30 Jun:

  • Online: Fill in the form belowand attach an item alongside your story.
  • In-person: Pick up a 50 Years of Stage & Stories card and envelope from The Roses during our opening hours and pop it back into the venue.

What Does The Roses Mean to You?

Maybe it’s a heartwarming moment, a funny story or even something a little cheeky—we want to hear it all!

Alongside your story, do you have something you can share? A photo? A ticket stub? Maybe a diary entry, a letter or even something you wore that night?

Whatever it is—big or small—we’d love to include it as part of our 50 Years of Stage & Stories project.

Why Your Stories Matter

We want to hear as many of your stories as possible to turn them into something extraordinary—a tribute to our shared history. By contributing, you’ll be part of a project that celebrates the past while looking forward to the future.

Useful Information

How will the project work and what's the timeline?

From the beginning of Apr to the end of Jun, we’re inviting you to share your Roses stories through the form below or by collecting a 50 Years of Stage & Stories card and envelope from the venue. We want as many as possible to turn your stories something extraordinary.

If you have an item to share that isn’t paper-based and/or can’t fit into an envelope, we’ll ask you a few questions about the item on the postcard or online form.

From Jul to Sep, a special community panel working on the project will sort through your stories and we will get touch to let you know if your item has been shortlisted.

All memories will be shared publicly, so we’d appreciate as much detail as possible to ensure your memory is given the justice it deserves.

Terms & Conditions

We understand your memories may hold sentimental value so here are a couple things to keep in mind:

  • Keep originals safe: If possible, share copies of your memories. We’re happy to scan photos and letters at the venue during our opening hours.
  • Public display: By submitting your memory or large item, you agree that your memory will be shared publicly as part of the project.
